Background
I grew up in the flat lands of central Indiana and never dreamed I would live on an island! My husband and I met in college where we both studied media at DePauw University. Our path took us to NYC and then to Los Angeles, where I had a 17-year career with NPR. Along the way, my work was honored with an Edward R. Murrow Award as well as a Gracie Award. I also became certified as a trauma-informed yoga facilitator. In early 2021, my husband was hired onto a TV show based on Oʻahu, and as we connected with local people and experienced aloha, we felt drawn to become part of this beautiful community. I am truly grateful to be able to share what I’ve learned and offer support to the programs within the School of Communication and Information.
