Our Programs
Our programs span interrelated disciplines with a shared focus on providing students with the knowledge, skills, and ethical perspectives to research, contextualize, communicate, analyze, and share media and information in a variety of settings. SCI graduates will learn to solve complex problems within the realms of communication, information, and conflict resolution.
Communication
Focusing on information and communication technologies and policy, communication in social, organizational and professional communities and the media arts.
Communicology
Addressing human communication processes, organized around three focal areas: creating understanding, interpersonal relationships and persuasion/social influence.
Journalism
Cultivating the ability to gather, analyze and organize information, and to communicate it clearly and responsibly through print, broadcast and online media.
Library and Information Science
Focusing on connecting people with information through services and systems that provide access to knowledge in libraries, archives and other information environments.
Matsunaga Institute for Peace
Advancing scholarship in peace studies, human rights and advocacy, leadership, governance and policy analysis. Providing conflict management and facilitation skills.
